Sales Policy
Misty Hollow Farm Sales Policy- French Angora
At Misty Hollow Farm, we breed only purebred French Angora rabbits. We will sell rabbits in two categories:
Show Rabbit: At the time of sale, the rabbit is free of DQ’s. Since I am human and not perfect, you are asked to look over the rabbit yourself at the time of sale. I will not be responsible for DQ’s that develop after the sale. We will not sell a show rabbit with white toenails, malocclusion, or a split penis as these animals are not suitable for showing. I will also not be able to guarantee that a Jr will make weight as a Sr, since I cannot see the future. I will not sell a sick rabbit. I will not give refunds for rabbits that do not show or breed well.
Wooller Only: This rabbit may have a minor DQ that renders it unsuitable for showing. Possible DQ’s include non-showable color, white toenails, split penis, or underweight Sr. These DQ’s will not affect the rabbit’s quality of life in any way. The rabbit will be healthy at time of sale. You will not receive a pedigree with a rabbit that has been sold as a woller only. I will not sell a sick rabbit.
I DO NOT SELL “PET” RABBITS. Since French Angora rabbits require the extra care, time, and grooming that many other breeds do not, I will not sell my rabbits as a pet or "house rabbit." I will, however, sell to a well-informed Youth Breeder or 4-H student with consent of the parent. If the rabbit is sold to a youth, the youth must demonstrate knowledge of the breed, grooming, and be able to handle the rabbit at the time of sale. Youth ARBA members and 4-Hers will receive a discounted price.
I reserve the right to refuse a sale for any reason. If I refuse the sale, all monies will be refunded. While I am always willing to teach, I will not sell a French Angora to anyone who is not prepared to take on the responsibility of caring for them.
At the time of the sale, the rabbit will be a minimum of 8 weeks old. I will not sell a rabbit younger than 8 weeks. The rabbit will also be tattooed in the left ear. You may not change the ear number.
Rabbits are also named at the time of sale. While I realize I can’t keep you from calling the bunny whatever you wish (ALL of mine have dopey nicknames) I will ask that if you register or breed the rabbit you keep the original name. You may NOT remove the Misty Hollow’s prefix from the name, or alter the tattoo in any way.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, please contact me to see if we may work something out. I will not take any rabbit back. (This is to protect my healthy rabbits.) I do realize that extremes do happen (i.e. illness of owner, loss of home, etc) so if you find yourself and your bunnies in trouble, please contact me.
With regrets, we do not allow rabbitry visits. We will meet you in a public place, at a show,or ANYWHERE that is beneficial to breeder and buyer. This is to keep us both safe.
